Dist. Prof. Baohua Jia
Chair
Distinguished Professor Baohua Jia is a Fellow of Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Technologies (FTSE), a Future Fellow of Australian Research Council and Founding Director of Centre for Atomaterials and Nanomanufacturing (CAN) at RMIT University, Australia. Professor Jia is an elected Fellow of Optica (OSA) and an elected Fellow of Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining (IoM3). Since 2019, Professor Jia has been serving as the Australian Research Council College of Expert. She has won many awards, including the 2023 Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) Environment, Sustainability and Energy Horizon Prize: John Jeyes Prize, 2017 finalist of the Australian Prime Minister's Science Award.

Professor Drummond has a strong interest and passion for the commercialisation of research outcomes. He joined RMIT University in 2014 from CSIRO where he was Group Executive for Manufacturing, Materials and Minerals comprising 1300 researchers and research support staff and an annual budget of $250 million. Immediately prior to this CSIRO Group Executive appointment, he was Chief of CSIRO Materials Science and Engineering (CMSE), CSIRO’s largest division. Prior to becoming a Chief, Calum was seconded from CSIRO to be the inaugural Vice President Research at CAP-XX, an Intel portfolio company. CAP-XX develops supercapacitors for consumer electronic products. In 2006, CAP-XX listed on the London AIM.

Co-Chair
Tianyi Ma is RMIT University’s Distinguished Professor. He is an Australian Research Council (ARC) Future Fellow, Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC), and a Clarivate Highly Cited Researcher in both Chemistry and Materials Science since 2020. He is Director of ARC Industrial Transformation Hub for Intelligent Energy Efficiency in Future Protected Cropping (E2Crop), and Research Director of Centre for Atomaterials and Nanomanufacturing (CAN). He has >400 publications in top-tier journals with an H-index of 95 and >40,000 citations, and acknowledged by many awads such as 2024 Prime Minister's Prize for Science - the Malcolm McIntosh Prize for Physical Scientist of the Year, Australian Academy of Science's Le Févre Medal.
